Post-Conf Trip – Shenzhen – Urban villages / small property right housing

This trip is organized by China Academy of Urban Planning and Design Shenzhen. It will contain two half-day site visits with in the city of Shenzhen.

One is to explore the urban villages Hubei located in the city center of Shenzhen, containing not only old buildings in need of conservation but also some illegal over-built buildings. Hubei is referred as the last ancient village in Shenzhen and will be renovated soon.

The other one is to learn about Wanke Dreamtown, which is a typical gated community covering 530 thousand m2 and equipped with its own schools, shopping malls and other facilities.

 

 

Details of the one-day trip are as follows:

Date: Feb.27, 2017

Schedule: Site visit to Hubei (Morning), lunch, site visit to Vanke City (afternoon) and dinner

Cost: 500RMB to be collected in Shenzhen (Including two meals,the transportation cost in Shenzhen,and translation fee)

Pickup Points: The two hotels as mentioned in the “Accommodation”

Accommodation:  The local host can make hotel room reservations for the participants in the following hotels, Shenzhen Grand View Hotel (4-star at US$100 per night) or Maple Leaf Pin-Yuan Service Apartment (US$50 per night). Please send an email for hotel reservation and inquiry.

Participants will need to arrange transportation to and from Shenzhen/HK/their home countries on their own. Participants will likely need a travel visa to China (best arranged in their country of residence).

Post-Conf Trip – Beijing – Incomplete property right housing complex

This tripscreen-shot-2016-10-17-at-14-45-25 is organized by the Peking University – Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy (PKU-Lincoln Center). It will explore the property right arrangements of the informal housing sector in Beijing. The trip comprises a half-day site visit to Zheng Ge Zhuang in Chang Ping, which is referred by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources as an “incomplete property right housing complex”. After the site visit, a meeting will be held in the PKU-Lincoln Center to discuss property rights related issues in China and research collaborations. Details of the one-day trip are as follows:

One-day Trip in Beijing

Schedule: Site visit (morning), lunch and meeting (afternoon)

Cost: Free. PKU-Lincoln Institute will bear the costs including lunch and transportation (in the city)

Pickup points: The two hotels and the East Gate of the Peking University will be the pickup points of the one-day trip.
